Churches

Although a faith-based organization, Teen Lifeline isn’t about winning teens over to a particular church or program. In fact, we believe that we can offer more effective services and help to teenagers if we partner with area churches to make a difference. Our ultimate goal is to reach out to hurting teens, helping them identify risk factors and boundaries so that they can begin the process of transitioning back into effective relationships within their own youth group or church. Participation in Teen Lifeline is voluntary. It is simply another avenue for youth ministers and pastors to seek help outside of the existing church walls.

Based on supported research, Teen Lifeline provides services that seek to equip teens with competency in the following areas:

  • Religious Identity
  • Specific Risk Factors
  • Prosocial Bonding/Concerns
  • Boundaries
  • Life Skills
  • Care & Support
  • Personal Meaning/High Expectations
  • Meaningful Participation

We believe that while physical and emotional support may be provided to help teenagers overcome the pain and hurt they experience, true healing will come through a relationship with Jesus Christ. Our ultimate goal is to introduce and/or strengthen the lives of young people. Cell groups provide more in-depth involvement through peer counseling, two-way communication and trust relationships. One-on-one mentoring exposes the teen to positive, adult role models and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. At this point in the program, teens become active participants in restoring past broken relationships as they experience firsthand a life lived better.
